Thursday 26 January 2012 Australia Day

I was at my lowest weight yet this morning - not by much - but all weight lost is a cause to rejoice. 128.9 lb. Cracked below 129. Yes!

Today was a carb day and I enjoyed Greek Yoghurt, mixed berries and banana for breakfast. Lunch was chicken and lettuce, while dinner was steak, pumpkin, potato and a few grapes. I thought about that potato, because of its being a nightshade plant that apparently aggravates arthritis, but it looked so delicious, baked, that I had some. I did not have the tomato, red capsicum based salad that I made for my hub. My arthritis has been quiet of late. Maybe it is because I haven't had the nightshades and maybe it is because of the exercise and liquid fish oil.

I was extremely tired this morning and went back to bed - unusual for me. By the time I was up and decided it was time to get something done, it was about 3pm. I did PC - 50 reps but only 10 walkouts. For some reason my mind was not dead set against the workouts today, so I did pyramid before dinner with 1m 40s to spare and then did meltdown after dinner. I haven't been totting up the densities lately, but I thought I would add this one into my list as it was quite improved, except for Spidey and the lunges which have plateaued.

Pushups / squats:       97/81  81/72   76/67   75/65    78/69    73/68     70/65       65/63      59/54      48/42
Shoulder press/sbl:     83/45   66/44   67/41  63/42     62/44     62/44     49/46       47/45      43/40      46/39
Spidey/stl:                 40/20  43/18   41/18   40/18    43/20     38/20      41/19      39/19       37/17     27/18
Curl and press/ sq     32/65  28/65   27/63    28/52    29/63    28/59     28/58       26/58       25/48     23/43

Now for the fast tomorrow.

Tuesday 24 January 2012

Getting fed up! My weight has plateaued around 129.5 pounds. It has been that way for about 10 days. I am still strictly on the ED and have followed the wave and first fast meticulously. Lost nothing over that fast. I am starting to look at goodies again - I can't stand the thought that I won't each biccies again. I miss having some kind of dessert after dinner. It could be fruit and Greek Yoghurt, except they are on the banned list for low carb days.

Today I had my lovely butter scrambled eggs for breakfast, smoked salmon, avocado and lettuce for lunch, and a very nice grilled beef, with mushrooms, onions and turmeric dish, and steamed broccoli.

Workouts are just a pain to be endured. I did PC this morning, again in dribs and drabs. Then this afternoon, I did pyramid in less than the 20 minutes. But I couldn't believe it - I was too quick to switch the control on the iphone. I think I had 2 minutes something to spare, but can't be sure - damnation. Now I still have Meltdown to  go- I may or may not do it - depending on how I feel and how long it takes to get hub to bed and the washing up done.

Yes I did Meltdown.

Saturday 21 January 2012

Oh well, it had to happen. No blog for three days. I have been too wiped out, more mentally, but physically too. I just could not face doing those workouts. On Wednesday, I did none because I went out to the theatre to see Love Never Dies. I had too much to do before I left and then was tired when I came back.

On Thursday, I did ICP reassessment and PC and on Friday, after needing to go out, by mid-afternoon, I just had to sleep, for a couple of hours. Then I decided to do something that I don't mind - my Wii cardio for 16 minutes (step and small jog.)

Now today, I somehow feel I have a bit more energy. I did DB Matrix (actually in dribs and drabs while I tended to my husband's shower - lunges in one room, weights in another). I repeated each of them, but not in sequence. I still cannot get my legs over at all. I used to be able to do this, with quite a bit of momentum and arm help. Maybe I'll build up to it again.

I have also done Pyramid and this time had 50s to spare. My best yet. I have left PC until last, as I know that as the day goes on, I would not be able to face pyramid.

I know Dax recommends not weighing oneself every day, but I am addicted. For the last three days, my weight has been trending back down again after the blip up to 130.5 and today was 129.4 lb. Pretty good! And so it should be as I have stuck to the ED. Yesterday, I bought in some silver beet and cooked it up with mushrooms and onions to have with a piece of salmon. The veggies were nice, but I overcooked the salmon, so it was a bit dry. I made my husband some baked potato and pumpkin to go with his dinner, and it sure smelled good. Strong little me - I did not even have a taste.

This morning for breakfast I had lovely scrambled eggs - this time with organic butter and almond milk - with avocado. The butter made them so much nicer than the olive oil I usually cook in. Then I was still hungry, so had to have some celery and smoked salmon.

For snack I had a few nuts and by mid-afternoon - lunchtime, I started to feel hungry, so had smoked salmon, avocado and lettuce.

Now I have completed PC (50 reps and 20 walkouts) and had dinner: spinach, onion and mushrooms with veal steak (a bit tough - I bought it on special).

I did cardio with the Wii, two basic step and one free step. Took 16 minutes.

Tuesday January 17 2012

New lowest weight today at 129.1 pounds. Did Meltdown, densities  improved, but can't be bothered to record them here. It is early, but I am tired and will go to bed without doing any of the other workouts.

My husband and I went to a friend's place for lunch today and it was totally enjoyable and ED friendly as I had told them about the diet. Getting home was not good, as stupidly, I took a wrong turn and added heaps of time to the return journey. We were both tired. He is in bed now and I ate my usual quickie of smoked salmon, avocado and celery. Now to bed.

Monday 16 January 2012

I can't be bothered to spend the time tonight. I am flagging in enthusiasm for the workouts and for doing the blog. Breakfast was one fried egg with onion. I had a busy day, going to the gym for Pilates and I did DB Matrix there.

Then I had to get my husband lunch and get him ready to take him to the podiatrist. After that some shopping to chase something that was out of stock. Then home to get him dinner. I had fillet steak and green salad.
Now it is time to wash up and go to bed. No pyramid and only a tiny bit of PC.

Sunday 15 January 2012

I was pleased that my weight was within a whisker of yesterday's low at 130.3 pounds. We were up late and by the time I had given my husband his shower and got him dressed and breakfasted, it was about 11 am. Not real good, but I do not like to feel rushed.
My breakfast was nice, two fried eggs, some smoked salmon and avocado.

Then it was time to contemplate the workouts for the day. Yuk - both pyramid and meltdown. Oh well, I did pyramid and improved, reaching the beginning of the dips on Level 1, coming down. Maybe at some time soon, I will complete it.

Again I needed to shop to buy some specials from Woolies and to get more prescriptions filled.

When I came back, I noticed a small, medium sized branch had dropped from where I parked the car. I have it out of the garage at present, as the workman needs the space for all  his stuff. Lucky escape for the car, or for that matter, for me.

Lunch was again not much. I was not hungry, but had some nuts and celery.

Then it was time for meltdown and wonder of wonders, I improved. The figures tell a good story from left (now) to right (beginning).

Pushups / squats:      90/73      81/72   ...     48/42
Shoulder press/sbl:     71/48     66/44   ...     46/39
Spidey/stl:                 45/19      43/18   ...     27/18
Curl and press/ sq     31/63      28/65   ...     23/43

Dinner was a delicious fillet steak, broccoli and avocado.

ICP was much the same as yesterday. I was tired. 1m 53, 1m 54, 1m 45.3.

Saturday 14 January 2012

Good news this morning. I am at my lowest weight so far - 130.2 pounds. Breakfast was beautiful - Greek Yoghurt, watemelon, rockmelon, mango. From that point though, things went downhill. I had little energy and could not bring myself to do Meltdown. I did do various household chores and showered and looked after my hub.
I had a few nuts for a snack, but was not really hungry.
Finally, I forced myself to do Meltdown and the densities have remained about the same, except for pushup/squats that improved.

Pushups / squats:       81/72   76/67   75/65    78/69    73/68     70/65       65/63      59/54      48/42
Shoulder press/sbl:     66/44   67/41  63/42     62/44     62/44     49/46       47/45      43/40      46/39
Spidey/stl:                 43/18   41/18   40/18    43/20     38/20      41/19      39/19       37/17     27/18
Curl and press/ sq     28/65   27/63    28/52    29/63    28/59     28/58       26/58       25/48     23/43

At that  point, I had to go shopping and ouch! had to buy a new DVD recorder as ours died. The price of the recorder was reasonable, but then add insurance, a fancy cable (that I am now not sure fits our setup) and installation payment - all the extras are the reasons for the ouch. Oh well, there is not much sense in having DVDs without being able to transfer the shows from our Foxtel and then play them later.

I had a late lunch of smoked salmon, avocado and celery, plus a little orange juice and a few nuts. After a bit, I did ICP. I am still improving. I don't mind doing ICP because it is short and I do allow myself to rest in between so I am not puffed to start the next set.

1m 48.3    1m 54.3s   1m 57.3s    2m 1s     2m 10.5    2m 19.4    2m 55.3    2m 50.5s
1m  54      1m 53.6s   2m 2s         2m 5s     2m 7.4     2m  15.4   2m  39.5    2m 50.8s
1m  42.4   1m 47.9s   1m 54.2s    1m 57s    2m 5.1     2m 5.9      2m  34.4    2m 48s

I was planning to fit in a Wii cardio, but my husband, unusually, settled in front of the TV to watch a movie. Anyway, I was still feeling a bit wiped out.

I had bought lovely fillet steak for my dinner, but I just did not feel like it. So I did 50 reps of PC first, but went downhill, with only 20 reps on the last one and only 10 walkouts.

Then I had more watermelon, I thought about a couple of eggs, but really wanted to go to bed. I have to give my husband his medication and get him ready for bed first.

Friday 13 January 2012

Good start to the day - weighing in my lightest so far, 131.7 pounds. I can now actually see that I have lost weight across my tum. Another thing - I did not feel as stiff as I usually do in the morning. When I lie flat on the floor and stretch my arms above my head, I usually feel very tight across the shoulders. Today was much easier.
My ICP has improved again. Amazing. What is more, the spideys feel much better. I was not as puffed doing them. It may be because this is the first workout of the day. And in the interests of full disclosure, I give myself enough rest between rounds so that I am not puffed starting the next round.

1m 54.3s  1m 57.3s     2m 1s     2m 10.5    2m 19.4    2m 55.3    2m 50.5s
1m 53.6s   2m 2s         2m 5s     2m 7.4     2m  15.4   2m  39.5    2m 50.8s
1m 47.9s   1m 54.2s    1m 57s    2m 5.1     2m 5.9      2m  34.4    2m 48s

Breakfast was curried zucchini and red pepper with two eggs scrambled through it.

I did PC mid-morning 50 reps and 18 walkouts. I think I will call this my ceiling.

I went out for lunch with friends and had a very ED friendly meal of lamb salad - no dressing and I did not eat the tomatoes. No dessert and no cappuccino - instead a lemon grass tea.

Back home I would have liked to knock over Pyramid, but duty called to attend to my husband, the washing, the dinner. We had the same as breakfast. He had his with grated cheese and I had mine with nuts.

Just before dinner, I pulled out the Wii to do my cardio. Well it was a mild cardio - three sets of Step and one fast three minute jog.

After dinner, with hub in bed, I absolutely forced myself to do the pyramid. I did not feel like it and my body did not feel like it. Quite different to this morning, I had all my arthritis spots shouting at me. I managed to get to beginning triceps on Level 2 coming down - the same as yesterday.

I really do not like this blog program. It puts too much space for a line break and changes the font to Ariel, without that being in the draft.

Thursday 12 January 2012

Today was a much calmer experience. No interruptions! The day started well with my weigh-in coming to 132.6 pounds. This is closer to the low I hit earlier.

I did PC early before breakfast, 48 reps and 14 walkouts.

Breakfast was scrambled egg made with almond milk, salmon and avocado. That's the first time I have used almond milk like that and it turned out nicely.

Then I decided I had to get the pyramid out of the way before lunch.  I did not feel good when it started, but picked up and really improved on yesterday's effort. This was partly because I didn't keep on looking at the stop watch on the iphone as I did yesterday. Instead I put the iphone on timer to stop at 20 minutes. I just finished the lunges on the x2 level going down.I found it a hard workout, especially as some of my muscles are telling me about yesterday's pyramid, especially the triceps.

Again I was not particularly hungry during the day, so just had a few nuts for lunch. (Can't eat if I don't feel hungry, even though I know I am supposed to eat every three hours.)

I  went up to the shops and used the walk there and back for my cardio. I was a bit disappointed as I thought I would be fitter by this stage, but I was puffing just going up a little hill for a little time.

I was thinking about Meltdown for quite some time before I forced myself to do it. Although I found it hard, I was surprised that I did not feel any twinges in my hips from my arthritis when I did Spidy and squats. I still get puffed out from these exercises. Most of my densities improved slightly from yesterday, but my body felt a bit wrecked - as a consequence of pyramid, I think.

Pushups / squats:       76/67   75/65    78/69    73/68     70/65       65/63      59/54      48/42
Shoulder press/sbl:     67/41  63/42     62/44     62/44     49/46       47/45      43/40      46/39
Spidey/stl:                 41/18    40/18   43/20     38/20      41/19      39/19       37/17     27/18
Curl and press/ sq     27/63    28/52   29/63    28/59     28/58         26/58       25/48     23/43

Dinner tonight was again a delicious grilled lamb leg chop and a green salad. For a while during the day, I felt slimmer for the first time since I started the program.

Wednesday 11 January 2012

Starting of course with the important thing - my weight. It was 133 pounds this morning. Ok.  I also took my measurements and they are much the same.

Oh, another busy, busy day. I managed to get up early enough to fit in the pyramid workout and went up the first side and down to beginning the 4x in my 20 minutes. I was really rushing to get everything done, as I wanted to get out to make the buffet before the theatre. Nope! Not even close.

My husband was very cooperative as I wanted him to get up earlier than usual. Showers completed in good time. From then on everything took ages - his breakfast, getting a morning tea tray ready for the workman, getting a lunch tray ready for my husband and the carer, getting the two loads of washing out, getting the house spick and span, getting my husband fixed up for the carer. If I hadn't been so tired last night, I could have done most of this then, but it was already 11pm when I went to bed yesterday.

I had a high protein breakfast of smoked salmon, egg and avocado. It was filling and that was just as well because I missed lunch - that nice buffet. No way could I eat every three hours!!!

Before I could get the train to the city, I had to go into a retailer to buy a fridge for my son. It was on special and was the last one left. He did the investigation yesterday.

Luckily I could contact my son and tell him to go ahead and eat, as I could see I wouldn't make it. I guess it doesn't matter that much, as I would have been paying for heaps of food I could not eat, on this no carb day. But there are always heaps of prawns at that buffet...sadness. In hindsight, I should have brought some food with me, as the shops around did not have things I could eat and I did not have time before the show to look further afield. We saw Annie and both of us enjoyed it.

Needless to say, I did not have anything like my water quota today. Can't risk needing to run to the loo during a theatre performance, or being on a train , bus or light rail. I did fit in the cardio though, getting from the light rail back to the train. I really hurried for that 10 minutes so I could be home in time before the carer left.

All the snacky things that are fruit, dried and fresh, I usually have are forbidden, so I could not eat until I took in clothes, did that Meltdown, got my husband to bed and then I had a really nice dinner of grilled lamb leg chop and green salad.

Pushups / squats:       75/65    78/69    73/68     70/65       65/63      59/54      48/42  (Pushups on knees)
Shoulder press/sbl:     63/42    62/44     62/44     49/46       47/45      43/40      46/39  (3 kg dumbell)
Spidey/stl:                 40/18    43/20     38/20      41/19      39/19       37/17     27/18
Curl and press/ sq     28/52     29/63    28/59     28/58      26/58       25/48      23/43

Densities are down, reflecting my tiredness, no food and time of day. But I did the damn thing.

Now I am tossing up whether to do ICP. I don't think I will because being tired is going to be counter-productive. ICP is actually the one I like best because it is the shortest.

Tuesday, 10 January 2012

Tuesday 10 January 2012

Oh, busy, busy, busy and one interruption after another that made it mighty difficult to fit in workouts.

Anyway, the day started well, with my weight back down a little to 133.2 pounds. The tradey started work on the garage lintel today, so I needed to talk a bit to him to sort out a few things like access to the house, when he wanted a cuppa etc.

Unexpectedly the pool guy turned up and that was good because there were things that needed attention. But... that was more talking to someone to discuss what needed to be done.

By the time I had hung out two loads of washing, talked to the carer who would be looking after my husband tomorrow, given my hubbby breakfast... the time just went. Unfortunately, ICP did not happen as it usually does, in the morning. My breakfast was banana, Greek yoghurt and muesli.

Then my friend who is recovering from an illness suggested lunch. This is usually a good thing, as I take my husband out with me on such an occasion with her. However, he did not want to come, he just wanted to go back to bed. I needed time there to attend to him, as he does things extremely slowly.

Finally, I did go out to have lunch, couscus, avocado and tuna. My son stayed with my husband.

Back home, I was very keen to get on to do one workout, but of course I needed to get my husband up and give him a meal and his medications. I just do not know where the time went, but it was about 4.30pm by the time I did Meltdown. I don't know how, but densities improved.

Pushups / squats:        78/69    73/68     70/65       65/63      59/54      48/42  (Pushups on knees)
Shoulder press/sbl:     62/52     62/44     49/46       47/45      43/40      46/39  (3 kg dumbell)
Spidey/stl:                 43/20     38/20      41/19      39/19       37/17     27/18
Curl and press/ sq      29/63    28/59     28/58      26/58       25/48      23/43

So it was getting late in the day and I had only done one workout. I did have to carry out a couple of loads of goods for the council cleanup, a bit heavy and up a slope, so I suppose I could count that as a very small cardio effort. I did puff a bit.

I ended up fitting in ICP at about 6.45pm and it was very tiring. But blow me down improvement there too. I realise I did not put in yesterday's readings, so enclose them here.

  1m 57.3s          2m 1s     2m 10.5  2m 19.4    2m 55.3          2m 50.5s
   2m 2s              2m 5s     2m 7.4     2m  15.4   2m  39.5         2m 50.8s
   1m 54.2s         1m 57s    2m 5.1     2m 5.9      2m  34.4         2m 48s

Dinner was chicken, avocado, tomato and leaves. Dessert was watermelon.

I want to finish this blog now and do PC, get my hub to bed and do the washing up -it is getting late.

Sunday, 8 January 2012

Monday 9 January 2012

Oh well,  it was too good to last. My weight was 134 pounds this morning, reversing the promising trend. Let's hope it turns around and goes in the right direction. I have noticed before, being the inveterate weigher that I am, that my morning weight does vary.

I was up very early for me this morning, 6 am. I wanted to fit in ICP, my shower, shower my husband, get him his breakfast, and get away to put the car in. All missions achieved.

My breakfast was left-over veggies and rice from yesterday. And there is more of it, as I am the only one who likes it.

I have already done my cardio, as I needed to walk very swiftly back from Westfield,  Hornsby to the car, once I received the call it was ready. Unfortunately, I do not know my way very well, went in the wrong direction and ended up with a very brisk 15 minutes walk.

Lunch was bought at the shopping centre as I was hungry and not sure how long the car would be. I thought I was buying fish, but I think it was potato on rice, with a few veggies. It was not a good choice.

Now I have done Meltdown. It was later than I usually do it and I found it quite tiring, especially Spiderman. Sweating? Oh yes! Most improved, but not surprisingly spidey went a bit backwards.

Pushups / squats:        73/68     70/65       65/63      59/54      48/42  (Pushups on knees)
Shoulder press/sbl:      62/44     49/46       47/45      43/40      46/39  (3 kg dumbell)
Spidey/stl:                  38/20      41/19      39/19       37/17     27/18
Curl and press/ sq       28/59     28/58      26/58       25/48     23/43

I have had a very busy day with tradespeople. First the car - service and rego. Then the plumber, installing new taps and showerhead. Then the builders looking over what needs to be fixed in the garage - quite a lot! Then expecting the man for the pool, backwashing the filter (too tight for me), but he hasn't come.

Ooops, something went wrong and it published itself. I have reverted it to the draft now.

Dinner was the same as last night and breakfast - veggies, rice and chicken.

Now Power Circuit is done with 42 reps and 12 walkouts. Whew!

Sunday 8 January 2012

First off, of course, was my weigh-in - slightly more than yesterday, but not by much - 132.6 pounds. That is really great, to have maintained the loss. I suspect I will plateau there for a few days at least.

As usual, there is no way I could face meltdown first off. Anyway, my son is still sleeping in the room next to the computer and he would not appreciate being woken to the beat of meltdown. My shower helps me warm up from overnight stiffness, so much as I prefer to shower after exercise, I did ICP after the shower. It was not too hot here this morning, so I did not really sweat too much.

Readings are certainly improving:

2 m 10.5  2m 19.4    2m 55.3          2m 50.5s
2m 7.4     2m  15.4   2m  39.5         2m 50.8s
2m 5.1     2m 5.9      2m  34.4         2m 48s

I was also feeling much less tight across the chest while doing the pushups.

Breakfast was greek yoghurt, muesli, nectarine and banana.

After reading many comments, I decided I could not put meltdown off for much longer. Well, improvements again, with sweating and increased heart rate.

Pushups / squats:        70/65       65/63      59/54      48/42  (Pushups on knees)
Shoulder press/sbl:      49/46       47/45      43/40      46/39  (3 kg dumbell)
Spidey/stl:                   41/19      39/19       37/17     27/18
Curl and press/ sq       28/58      26/58       25/48     23/43

Lunch was smoked salmon, tomato, spinach leaves, spring onion and red capsicum.

I was really tired in the afternoon and had a good sleep. After getting up, it seemed like a good time to do the cardio, while my husband was not listening to ABC Classic FM in our bedroom. Yes, it was the Wii again that is attached to our bedroom TV. Ten minutes of jogging on the spot and it was faster than the same program two days ago. I raised quite a sweat.

Dinner was a stir fry of zucchini, onion, red capsicum, tomato with steamed broccoli, carrots and walnuts. Also a bit of chicken and a few chips, courtesy of my son.

Finally, it was time for Power Circuit, this time with 40 reps and 11 walkouts. Quite tiring.

Saturday 7 January 2012

Another pleasant surprise this morning! Weight down again from yesterday to 132.4 pounds. I must admit I am a compulsive weight checker.

Again I could not face doing Meltdown when I decided to get up, so I stuck to ICP. Improvement again, I am pleased to say:

2m 19.4    2m 55.3          2m 50.5s
2m  15.4   2m  39.5         2m 50.8s
2m 5.9      2m  34.4         2m 48s

Once again I am irritated at how hard it is to use this blogger program. It is touch and go as to whether I can open the blog to get to making a draft - sometimes I can get the dashboard and sometimes it does not appear. Then to move between the published pages and the draft is so difficult - there are no links from one to the other. I have resorted to having both the published page and the draft open at the same time, as I like to be able to copy from one to another without re-typing.

And I have taken my before pictures - well to be accurate - my son took them on his i-phone and then could not email them to me. That i-phone of his is a problem that way. So I connected his phone to the computer and got them off that way. Of course, they were far too large to publish here. So racking my brains about how to reduce them, I settled on using Picassa.

Let's hope I can get rid of quite a lot of those love handles by the end of this program. Nothing much I can do about standing straight - a great shame - genetics and osteoporosis.

Breakfast today was Greek yoghurt, with muesli and banana.

Lunch was a salad of potato, spinach leaves, cabbage, dressed with coconut oil, balsamic vinegar and garlic.

After my warmup, I completed Meldown. Amazing, times have improved again.

Pushups / squats:               65/63      59/54      48/42  (Pushups on knees)
Shoulder press/sbl:             47/45      43/40      46/39  (3 kg dumbell)
Spidey/stl:                         39/19       37/17     27/18
Curl and press/ sq             26/58       25/48     23/43

Towards late afternoon, I brought out the Wii again and did about 14 minutes cardio - some fast jogging and some rather simple step that I am not very good at.

Dinner was much the same as last night - chicken, potato, sweet potato, pumpkin, carrot, broccoli.

Later, after putting my husband to bed, I completed Power Circuit with 35 reps and 10 walkouts. Now I am tired and looking forward to doing a bit of reading then sleep.

Friday 6 January 2012

I did have a pleasant surprise this morning - weight was 133.5 pounds. It does not seem possible to have already lost 2.5 pounds, but I'll see tomorrow.

Waking up this morning and facing the prospect of Meltdown was too much. So I opted for the lesser arduous ICP. I am usually stiff in the mornings and need a shower to feel good. However, it was cool here this morning, so I did the ICP first and then had my shower. I managed, with improved readings.

Results are: (Yesterday's readings are in red.)

2m 55.3          2m 50.5s
2m  39.5         2m 50.8s
2m  34.4         2m 48s

Breakfast was Greek yoghurt and raisins.

Later in the day, I psyched myself up to Meltdown.  I started without warm up, but quickly realised this was not a goer. I did the short mobility matrix. Results are that most of my densities have improved.

My densities were: (Yesterday's readings are in red.)

Pushups / squats:               59/54      48/42  (Pushups on knees)
Shoulder press/sbl:             43/40      46/39 (3 kg dumbell)
Spidey/stl:                          37/17     27/18
Curl and press/ sq              25/48     23/43

Snack was left-over lettuce, tomato, red capsicum and spring onion salad with a bit of cooked white rice (cooked for my son, but now needs to be used up).

Lunch was lightly cooked cabbage, carrot, onion, potato and egg. Watermelon for dessert.

I did not have time to walk up to the shops for my cardio, as I had someone coming to inspect the concrete that is falling out of the lintel over the garage. Great so far that it looks as though he can fix things.

After taking my husband to his gym and then doing the shopping, I returned to get him ready for the night. I decided to do a cardio Wii exercise - jogging for 10 minutes. It is a while since I used the Wii and I enjoyed it again. I think I will make this my cardio for a few days.

Dinner was terriaki chicken, potato, pumpkin, sweet potato and broccoli. Rockmelon for dessert.

I am feeling a bit tired, but I forced myself to do Power Circuit. Yesterday, I was really only up for the 20 reps and 10 walkouts. Today I did 25 reps and 10 walkouts. Yea! Another day with all four workouts done.

Thursday January 5, 2012

I could not do Meltdown first off, as my sick son was still asleep near where it would play. Instead I did ICP before breakfast.

My target reps are:
18 pushups (on knees)
19 squats
14 Spiderman (counting each side)
6 Russian twist (counting each side)
7 Shoulder press (3kg)

Times were:
2m 50.5s
2m 50.8s
2m 48s

Now I will have some breakfast. It will have to be easy, as we are going out for morning tea soon. I will just have a banana and Greek yoghurt.

At our friend's place for morning tea, I only had dry gluten free rice crackers that had no forbidden stuff - no cheese or dips with peppermint tea.

For lunch, I had a cooked veggie mixture (mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and carrots) with a small cabbage salad with a few walnuts. Dessert was a lovely sweet piece of watermelon.

Then I did the short mobility matrix, followed by Meltdown. Annette's sheet was very useful for record keeping.
My densities were:
Pushups / squats:               48/42  (Pushups on knees)
Shoulder press/sbl:             46/39 (3 kg dumbell)
Spidey/stl:                          27/18
Curl and press/ sq              23/43

By this time it was after 5.30, so I did a swift walk up to the shopping centre and back to get our mail. That was a fairly mild cardio of about 25 minutes.

Dinner was smoked salmon with lettuce, tomato, red capsicum and spring onion salad. Also a potato salad with Greek yoghurt and a few walnuts.

Finally completed Power Circuit, but with 20 reps and 10 walkouts. That was enough for me!

Well, I am pleased I managed to fit in all four workouts. I found Meltdown quite tough and hope I can improve my fitness and flexibility. I can certainly feel my osteo-arthritis kicking in on many of the movements I have been making today.

Wednesday January 4, 2012, evening

I have just joined  London Personal Trainer Dax Moy's ED MAP 2012 Challenge and I'll be keeping a day by day, account of my progress.

I dallied around, trying to decide whether I could make this commitment. My circumstances have changed since I first joined Dax's program in Meltdown, 2010. I am now a carer of my husband, who does not walk very well and needs help in almost everything he does.

I lost weight in Meltdown and was very pleased with the result. I stuck to the ED very well but the exercise program just about did me in. I was not fit, but I guess I improved. I kept the weight off for about 18 months. For the last couple of months, I began to put on weight. Eating sugary snacks at night while I watched TV was the reason for the gain. Each morning, I would resolve not to do this, but each evening, I would break my decision. Once started on the goodies, there was no stopping.

Now because of my late decision to join ED MAP 2012, I have quite a lot to do to get organised to start. First off is this blog and although I do like fiddling about with blogs, it has already taken me far too long to get going.

I will work out how to get my photos later, but I guess I had better do the measurements now.

Weight                                  136 pounds

Bust in inches 40
Waist 38
Upper Arm 13
Hips 39
Thighs 15.5
Thighs 19.25

Hmm.. not so good! Taking those measurements re-affirms my decision to do this MAP  as a good one.

I will start the ED (level 2) and stick to it but it is getting too late here for me to re-organise tomorrow to fit in all the exercises.  it just means I may start the program a bit later - hope I won't.
